Speaker 0 00:00:00 Good morning, Fort McMurray, wood, Buffalo, and the rest of the world. You've tuned in to the Mac city morning show. I'm your host, Elliot Pierre. And we're going to start this show off the same way we start every show off with a moment of gratitude. I know you could be doing a million other things with your time. So the fact that you're spending with us truly does mean the world to me. So thank you on that note, Tanner hit him with the intro. Speaker 0 00:00:30 Alright. We are back now. As everybody knows at home, I do not introduce my guests. I let them do that themselves. And we got a very special guest here today. So on that note, sir, can you please introduce yourself to the people at home and tell them who you are and what you're doing? Speaker 2 00:00:44 First of all, I'm very pleased at that opportunity to be with you tonight, today. So yes, I'm makes Bernie and the leader of the people's body of Canada, uh, you know, before being in politics. Uh, I worked in the private sector for 19 years, so, uh, I'm not a career politician. I jumped into politics at 43 years old in 2006 to fight for smaller government and a terroir for more freedom. And that's what I believe in. And that's why, you know, we created the people's party of Canada two years ago, and now this new political body is going and it's a real new option for Canadians. Speaker 0 00:01:25 Great. That's awesome. So, 40 years before you got into politics, what kept you busy? Speaker 2 00:01:31 You know, uh, I studied, uh, business in Montreal. I studied law in Ottawa. Uh, I'm a lawyer and I work in a private sector, uh, as a lawyer for a couple of years. But after that more, the financial sector I have to, and after that, you know, uh, in 2006, I decided to be in politics with Steven offer, right. I, as I said, I left the party in 2008, 2018 because this party was not conservative anymore. And we have to prove today, uh, you know, I have two daughters, 19 and 21 years old. Okay. Um, uh, my wife, I get married, uh, two years ago, uh, with cataract relations. Thank you very much. And, uh, I'm very breezy. I'm a happy man. And now I like what I'm doing because I'm fighting for what I believe. And we have a lot of support it's growing and it's fun. Speaker 0 00:02:23 Yeah. So this is your first time in Fort McMurray heard? Speaker 2 00:02:26 Uh, no, it's my third time I was here when I was a minister, a couple of couple of times. And I had the opportunity also to visit a couple of, uh, uh, corporations and I know the importance of the oil and gas industry. That's why, you know, we have a strong platform for more prosperity in this country and that most start by a strong oil and gas industry. Speaker 0 00:02:52 Yeah. I saw that tonight. You got a lot of people here cheering you on and like, they really got behind your message today. Speaker 2 00:02:57 All right. That was fun. We had those people I've been told about 275 people here, um, for a Monday night. Very. Speaker 0 00:03:05 Yeah. So why do you think your message resonates so much with the community here in wood, Buffalo that showed up tonight? Speaker 2 00:03:11 First of all, because it's based on common sense and because we are doing politics differently because I don't try to tell you what you on two year or to give you money that we don't have. That's what the traditional politicians are doing during this campaign. More and more money that we don't have a bigger deficit every year, nobody would balance a budget. There, they are fiscally irresponsible and the debt would have hurt us and our society. So I'm telling the truth based on facts. And I think people would appreciate that. They appreciate that. You know, I won't change what I said in 2019 during the election we, we have right now, the same platform and seeing the same thing. And I will always speak about what we believe on till we win that battle of ideas. Okay. Speaker 0 00:03:56 Now my question, I ask everybody, who's in politics. This so is you seem like a very happy man. You have some children, you just got married. You just seem like you're overall happy. And so the position that you've decided to run in comes with, uh, it's a bit, it's a heavy cross to bear. Why do you feel as important to be running and to have yourself in this political game? Speaker 2 00:04:19 Yeah, because for me, first of all, I like people, I like to be with people if you're a politician and you don't like people won't go well. And, uh, you know, I like also I have a vision for this country and I believe that I have the best vision for this country because it's based on people. And we, at the people's party, we have faded people. We have fade that you have the ability to, he DND a right to make your own decisions and determine your own destiny. We don't believe in a big fat government that will tell you what to do in your day to day life. So that being said, I like what I'm doing. We have nice days and someone that are not so nice, but that's part of the political life. But, uh, you know, when you, you fight for what you believe you can sleep well at night. And I know that this campaign, I'm very busy with this campaign, but I'm meeting a lot of people and they are giving me a lot of energy also. So I will always be there. And I believe in this country and I believe in Canadian, so Speaker 0 00:05:23 Awesome. Well, my man, usually this shows a little bit longer, but I know you're pressed for time. So I won't keep you at the end of the show though. Everybody gets a shameless shout out or a plug. So the mic see on you, the camera's on you let's hear your shameless shout out or plug. Speaker 2 00:05:37 So, uh, my God, what I can say, um, you know, in life, I believe that you, if you don't have any vision for yourself, or if you don't believe in anything, nothing will happen. And I like Jordan Peterson, Jordan said, you know, you must do your bed in the morning before trying save the world. And in politics, I tried to do the same thing. Uh, I try to, you know, we don't want a guardsman that will tell you what to do and look at you as a children. I believe that you're responsible for your action and I'm responsible for my actions. So yes, I did some mistake in life and you have to learn from this mistake. So I'm telling Canadians, you know, nobody's perfect. You, uh, you, but if you, if you fight for what you believe, you'll have a better life. And I'm doing that. Speaker 2 00:06:28 I know that I will do more mistake in the future. That will happen, but just be responsible of your action and, and, and see the truth to be bought when you do a mistake, see it and build on that. And that's why in politics, I believe people must be responsible of the election that I like Jordan Peterson is saying, be responsible, do do your bed. And after that, tried to save the world if you want. But for me, the government is not looking at you like a natural or a responsible citizen. The government is looking at you like a child that he must always ProTech and put more regulation and more restriction on your life. No, if you do a good thing, you must be at people that if you were a bad thing, you must be responsible for that. And in life. That's my philosophy. And I believe that people appreciate that. There you go. Speaker 0 00:07:22 Well, my man, thank you very much for coming on the show today. I really do appreciate it. Thank you. Thank you everybody at home. Once again, this has been another episode of the Mac city morning show. Thank you so much for tuning in it truly does mean the world to me. I hope you're having a great day and we'll see you tomorrow. Peace Speaker 3 00:07:38 Y Dalio Wade, and another morning show later by us. Speaker 1 00:07:47 You talk about quenching your ugly thirsty.
