Speaker 0 00:00:01 Good morning, Fort McMurray, wood, Buffalo, and the rest of the world. You've tuned in to the Mac city morning show. I'm your host, Elliot Pierre. And as per usual, we're going to start the show off on the same note. We start every show off with a moment of gratitude. I know you could be doing a million things with your time and the fact that you spend it with us truly does mean the world to me. So thank you on that note, Tanner hit him with the intro. Speaker 1 00:00:21 Oh, she caught me loves and you're listening to the next city morning show. Speaker 0 00:00:30 All right. We're back now. As you guys know at home, I don't introduce my guests cause they ain't can do a better job at that than myself. I don't know if you can hear my guests, but Boyle boy, did we have a special one? So on that note, sir, can you please tell everybody at home who you are and what you're about? Speaker 3 00:00:44 Oh, hi for me Marie. It Santa's here today and I thought I would come down to the talk show and have a little visit because today is a real busy day and I just want to check and double check if few little boys and girls, they make sure they've kept her room tidy and they've been brushing her teeth and I'll tell you it is a fabulous day to be here. Speaker 0 00:01:11 Yeah. Thank you very much for coming. I know you're busy today. You're about to take off it's Christmas Eve. You got a lot of presents to deliver that's for sure. Speaker 3 00:01:20 Oh, definitely. The elves got the sleigh. I think the last report I got, they've got one sleigh ready and then I will transfer back and forth several times during the night to pick up the other loads. And I think they've got just about the other 800 loads ready to go. Wow. Right. So I'll take one load and I'll swing by for Mick Murray. And boy, I tell you there's a lot of good boys and girls here this year. Speaker 0 00:01:45 There is. So I have a question I've always wanted to ask growing up as a child, I always put out the cookies and I'm thinking, how does he eat all these cookies? Do you like the taste? You get sick of the cookies after a while. Like, Speaker 3 00:01:59 Well, the cookies are great because it gives me a lot of energy. Okay. I generally only eat the cookies on that one night a year. Okay. So I'm wearing the cookie monster for that one night right now I'll always have a taste of homemade cookies because they are the best. Yeah. Right. And sometimes I sneak some back to the ELLs. Okay. Right. Especially if they got cracked or whatever, I'll make them into small, almost like little mini cookies. Right, right, right. So yeah, no, I really love the homemade cookies. Specially double chocolate chip. Speaker 0 00:02:32 Double chocolate chip. Good to know. Okay. My other question for you, cause this I'm a kid at heart and so this is a big moment for me. Speaker 3 00:02:40 So we're all kids. Yeah. Speaker 0 00:02:42 So I've had this question. I've had questions my whole life about Santa. How is it that you're able to fly around the world so quickly and get to all of the different houses globally? Speaker 3 00:02:53 Well, that's a lot of physics. So on Santa's sleigh we have what is almost like an anti gravitational kind of device. Okay. So the earth is spinning around the sun. Right. And it's also spinning around itself. Right. So with these slaves, when I've reached a community in places where I'm going, the GPS flicks, a switch and boom, I'm right there. And I stay, then I lift up again when I've dropped all the toys and it only, it's only a blink. Right. And then I will stay right there in the spot and the earth will rotate around for the next community. Oh, we all know how fast do earth rotates. That's right. So that's pretty fast. Yeah. Speaker 0 00:03:40 Yeah. Interesting. That is technology for you. Speaker 3 00:03:44 Well, it's been around for a long time. Right? Right. Some of the other people are just understanding the physics gravitational now. Speaker 0 00:03:53 Right, right, right. Okay. I got another question about a technology. Like back in the day, like my parents and grandparents, grandparents, you had wooden toys, they were simpler nowadays. You got all these and Tendo switches and video games and iPhones and iPads. How have your elves managed with updating of the technologies? Well, Speaker 3 00:04:14 Deals really haven't updated with all the technology. Right? Um, a lot of kids, I still get the letters that they're wanting the iPads and the iPhones. Well, I had to stop the elves last year because you know, all my notepads, cause Santa has a lot of notepads because when I'm going around and check my list, I have notepads and they're square. But I go into my office to get some notepads because I'm going for a check around and all I have are little cutout, rectangle pieces HotPads and I said, well, where's my notepads. And when I look, the elves had made a shape of an eye out of my writing pad and thinking that was the iPads. And then the light switches, I really got to watch them because the kids are asking for Nintendo switch. Right. And they're thinking, okay, we'll just put in 10, two on the late switch. Speaker 3 00:05:06 Right. So I keep telling the kids that the elves are not great on the electronic parts. Now you give them like trouble, sorry, books, uh, toy trains. Now they're real. Now they do have modernized a bit. Right. Because they're the old trucks used to pull back and they would spring forward. Now they're starting to get into the RC cars, right. With full control for the small monster trucks and stuff like that. Some of the dolls are almost like almost like mini robot dolls. But this year it seems like we we've gone back to some of the older toys. Right. Which is a very nice twist because I'm getting a lot more kids that want books this year and sketch drawings. It seems that with everybody having more time at home. Right. Right. If they're wanting draw a lot more and they're sitting down reading the books right. And Poppins. Yeah. Like they're really big demand for these puppets and you just pop the bulb back and forth. That's right. Almost like yeah. Foam it. They had one time. So it's nice to see that these older toys that were very common are coming back to become, there you go. Now they have a modern twist to it. Right. Some of these coloring books. Yeah. Sandra can't even stay in between the lines on some of those who need some really fine tip crowns to do that. True artists. Yeah. Speaker 0 00:06:32 Yes. So the other thing about Santa's, you're obviously one of the most famous people on the planet, and I know you're busy tonight. You got all these Speaker 3 00:06:43 Deliveries really getting busy, Speaker 0 00:06:45 But you're a famous actor as well. I see you in all these movies all over the place, how did you get into acting? Speaker 3 00:06:52 Well, that was an accident because there was one place that I, I stopped and they had this guy there and he was, he was trying to be like me. Right, right. But he just didn't seem to fit the suit. Well, so I want him to be nice to help them. I dropped down. Right. And we'll park the reindeers out of the way and went over and somebody seen me and asked me, Hey, can you do this? It was just a small little, right. And then all of a sudden it was like, wow, everybody wants. So Santa has a lot of these movies are been done and they're just replayed a Sandoz, maybe one or two new ones each year. Right. Just so that we keep up with the new stuff. And now they're usually filmed after Christmas and we make it look like it's Christmas. Right. Because I just can't do anything. Just keeping around, running, checking the list, checking it twice. Sometimes having to go and visit them. And I really tell that, right. Yeah. I don't have time to be making Christmas movies during Christmas. That's right. Of course not do it. After Speaker 0 00:08:04 Chris pre film, it smart. Speaker 3 00:08:07 Very smart. Well, that was the only way they could work me into their schedule and they wanted me Speaker 0 00:08:12 The real deal. That's exactly it. All right, Santa, we come to the part of the show called the Mac city minute. This is where Tanner asks you a few quick questions. I don't know what he's going to ask you. So I wish you nothing but the best luck Tanner. And with max, any minute. Speaker 4 00:08:24 Alrighty, question number one for you today. What is your favorite kind of cookie to eat when out delivering gifts? Speaker 3 00:08:32 Well, I do love those double chocolate chip cookies. They're the best Speaker 4 00:08:37 Question. Number two. What is one thing you think people would like to know about your reindeer? Speaker 3 00:08:43 Well, they always seem to ask me which one is my favorite reindeer and that's all depending on the weather, if it's in Rudolph is my favorite. If we're in the city and it's clear, I need dancer as my favor. Cause he dances around those skyscrapers real quick. Right. And then which sometimes revenue countryside. And it's a really beautiful scene. Cubic takes cute. Sorry about that. Right. And they take the lead, right? Cuba does. Right? So each one is my favorite right on different days and different times. There you go. Speaker 4 00:09:27 Question number three. What is your favorite gift to give to the young boys and girls? Speaker 3 00:09:35 I think over the times, my favorite thing I give to kids is the candy canes I put in their stocking because they're made with love. Speaker 4 00:09:44 Question number four for you today. What is one Christmas tradition you have when you're finally done delivering gifts? Speaker 3 00:09:53 I like to sit back just before Dawn Christmas morning, flip my feet up and have a nice glass of hot chocolate. Mrs. Claus makes for me. Speaker 4 00:10:05 And your final question. What is one thing you and Mrs. Claus do in the summer when you're not working? Speaker 3 00:10:13 Well, that would be a very short period of time, but a couple of times we've actually gone to the beach Speaker 4 00:10:21 And those have been your five questions. There we Speaker 0 00:10:24 Go. Good question, Sam. Thank you very much. Speaker 3 00:10:26 Thank you. Speaker 0 00:10:27 All right. Well Sandra, listen. Usually we filmed these episodes and they're a lot longer, but obviously being the day that it is the job you have to do, we're not going to keep you around, but we'd love to have you come back again. After you drop off all the gifts and give us an update on how your delivery schedule went. Well, you know, Speaker 3 00:10:44 I will probably swing by on my last round through and drop in and just let you know how, how enjoying it. Speaker 0 00:10:54 Okay. There we go. Now, before we let you go, though, everybody gets a shameless shout out or plug before they, uh, leave the show. So you got the cameras, the lights, the Mike's on you let's hear your shameless shout out or plug. Speaker 3 00:11:05 Well, I like to give it, uh, to the Mat-Su data fan and Fort Chippewan last week they asked Mr. And Mrs. Claus, the road, wasn't going to open up. So they say, can you guys visit us? You don't have to take the Rangers. We'll charter a plane and fly you up. And you know what? The reindeers really appreciated that. So me and Mrs Claus, we went to Fort Chippewan for a night to visit some great kids and nice seniors and very, very friendly people up there. Speaker 0 00:11:39 Go. Awesome. That's a great shout out. All right. Fort McMurray, wood, Buffalo. Thank you very much for tuning in. This has been another episode of the max city morning show, probably our most special yet. So thank you very much. Happy holidays, Merry Christmas and hope Speaker 5 00:11:53 You're having a great day. We'll see you tomorrow. Merry Christmas. Speaker 6 00:12:13 Yeah. Talk about quenching your ugly thirst.
