Speaker 0 00:00:00 Good morning, Fort McMurray, wood, Buffalo, and the rest of the world. You've tuned in to the Mac city morning show. I am your host Elliot Pierre, and we're going to start this episode off the same way we start every episode off with a moment of gratitude. I know you can be doing a million other things with your time. And the fact that you're spending with us truly does mean the world to me. So thank you on that note, Tanner hit him with the intro. Speaker 2 00:00:28 Hey everybody. He comes in here from there, Alpharetta, uh, just quick chat about, uh, the wonderful community we live in here. As you guys know, we support the El parents. We've joined the drive-in movie theater. We're involved in the marathon here in Fort McMurray and make sure we're taking care of the kids and all the local businesses, all the local charities and all the local foundations guys. That's what makes this community such an amazing place to live. Speaker 0 00:00:52 All right. And we're back before we get started big shout out to our title sponsor neural Toyota, key fad. Nehmer all of the boys and girls down there for selling those cars and doing the servicing and sponsoring the show. I really do appreciate it. Now, as you can tell, I'm not at the max city morning show set. We are at stick with barbershop, with Allie and the boys next to the black horse pub. They are sponsoring the max city minute and I'm about to get my haircut. So without further ado, Allie, let's get started. My man. Speaker 3 00:01:21 Yeah, man. Speaker 0 00:01:22 So how are you doing today? Speaker 3 00:01:23 I'm doing great. Speaker 0 00:01:24 Yeah, I'm doing good. So listen, it's going to visit, you have tons of people that come here. And I just did an interview with, uh, one of the patrons. He used to live down the street. He just moved all the way out to Timberlake, but he's still making the drive here. I make the drive here from Timberland. Why do you think people love to come to pick a barbershop? What makes you different? Why aren't people making the drive? There's other barbershops they can go to. Speaker 3 00:01:57 Well, to be honest with you, Elliot, there's two things, at least that makes people come back here. They want to come back on the farm. The first thing is the good haircut as usual. The second thing is, Speaker 0 00:02:12 Yeah, Speaker 3 00:02:12 The more friendly I think in town. Yeah, but mice is the most relaxing people. People like people like people like to come to a relaxing place and they like people who will actually joke and make them laugh. Speaker 0 00:02:28 Yeah. But Speaker 3 00:02:29 That's it or the place for it. Speaker 0 00:02:30 Yeah, man. Now there's one thing that you guys do. And it came up a few times in the conversations today while I was filming, you guys have like a way with the kids. Like I see you guys on the mommy network. I bring my kid here since he was a little child. What's the thought process on like making a kid comfortable when they come into the barbershop Speaker 3 00:02:53 With Elliot, when we first started hearing the barbershop, a lot of mothers come here, we noticed that kids actually need a big attention and they need a lot of here. Speaker 4 00:03:03 Yeah. Speaker 3 00:03:04 So we started concentrating on dialogue. And to be honest with you, I'll tell you the truth. We want you to do some research. Speaker 4 00:03:12 Yeah. I Speaker 3 00:03:12 Actually thought the features. Speaker 0 00:03:14 Okay. Speaker 3 00:03:15 Because you know what you Speaker 4 00:03:16 Learn. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:03:17 No, I know like we're Barbie, we've seen, we've seen kids. You normally deal with adults, but the Speaker 4 00:03:21 Kids. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:03:22 You have to be there, man. And you have to be focused and you can't make no Speaker 4 00:03:25 Mistakes. That's right. One Speaker 3 00:03:26 Mistake. And it's happened before. Yes. I will leave a little bit of spar and the mothers and the parents will be mad Speaker 4 00:03:31 And that's right. We're going Speaker 3 00:03:33 To be in trouble. Speaker 4 00:03:33 That's right. So we Speaker 3 00:03:34 Have to go ask the people in the domain Speaker 4 00:03:38 That's right. Right, right, right, right. Right. Well, I know Speaker 3 00:03:41 My brother mole was watching some videos. Speaker 4 00:03:43 Boom. Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:03:44 I'm actually working now with my Speaker 4 00:03:46 Brother-in-law. Yeah. That's right. Speaker 3 00:03:49 Mark is older. Stubborn. He doesn't want to because he doesn't want like, Okay. Speaker 0 00:03:58 Yeah. No, it's, it's a big thing. I think that's one of the things that you guys are really known for is for being able to like, do really good kids, haircuts and make them feel comfortable. Speaker 3 00:04:08 Yeah. And I want to tell you something, man, being a parent, it makes a big difference. Speaker 4 00:04:12 That's right. Speaker 3 00:04:13 Definitely. It does make you more patient. It makes you more, uh, like Tom, you know, dealing with these kids and Speaker 4 00:04:20 Brave. I mean, Speaker 3 00:04:21 Remember bro, it's about the mom and dad Speaker 4 00:04:22 Too. And Speaker 3 00:04:24 All, you have to make them feel comfortable in the last and you know, make them feel like their kid is really important. He is important To me to make sure like he is in a relaxed mode. That's a big deal, Speaker 4 00:04:35 Man. That's a Speaker 3 00:04:36 Big, big, big, then we were in a lot Speaker 4 00:04:38 On that man. Yeah. Yeah man. Speaker 0 00:04:40 So a few days ago, I don't know if you saw it, but it looks like YMM is doing their top businesses in town again. Speaker 3 00:04:47 Yeah. Actually I saw that somebody sent me the link. Speaker 0 00:04:51 Yeah. Speaker 3 00:04:52 I'm actually, I liked that a Speaker 4 00:04:53 Lot Speaker 3 00:04:56 People to nominate us and for us again this year and you know what I think, I think at least we deserve something like that. Speaker 4 00:05:05 That's right. Speaker 3 00:05:05 Because we actually care and we love our people. And uh, and I told you before, man, we have an ACE in Speaker 4 00:05:13 Here. Yeah. Speaker 3 00:05:15 Barbara's health Speaker 4 00:05:16 Nation's last back at Speaker 3 00:05:17 All. Like yeah. Everybody loves this place and they support us a lot Speaker 4 00:05:22 And that's right. Speaker 3 00:05:23 We don't forget how they support us back around the charities and all that stuff. Speaker 4 00:05:28 Oh yeah. Speaker 0 00:05:29 Boys and girls club to sound as anonymous to the SPCA. Speaker 3 00:05:35 Even Speaker 0 00:05:35 We had a, one of the sponsors or charities that you were helping out, big brothers, except as our show. Speaker 3 00:05:41 That was a big deal to me. Yeah. My brother, he was the one who, Speaker 4 00:05:48 Yeah. Speaker 0 00:05:49 So anybody watching the show, if you're out there Balsam communication, why men magazine has that thing throw a nomination in for the boys that pick the barbershop next in the Blackhorse big shout out to Krista Balsam and all her team. They do some amazing stuff, man. She, uh, she's got a cool company she's gone on to go there. Speaker 3 00:06:08 I've never met her in my life. Speaker 0 00:06:09 Really? I heard Speaker 3 00:06:10 Some good stuff. Oh, You're doing what you're doing. More stuff like that. Really appreciate that. Speaker 0 00:06:20 All right. So let's focus on me for a second. Yeah. So I don't know if the people at home can see it or not, but Allie has been getting me to grow with the mustache. I love it. So the mustache, so tell me why you thought this mustache needed to be grown up. Speaker 3 00:06:36 I'm going to tell you something y'all yet you are a public figure. You are a VIP, like a Facebook bar. Like Speaker 0 00:06:47 Yeah. Speaker 3 00:06:48 You have to look like a VIP because you are a VIP. Speaker 0 00:06:51 Right, right, right. I Speaker 3 00:06:52 Give you a season. Number one, season number two. Speaker 0 00:06:55 All right. I have Speaker 3 00:06:56 To make sure there's something different. Yeah. So I'll do that. People remember you. Speaker 0 00:06:59 Right. Right, right. Speaker 3 00:07:00 Let's see this mustache, all the mustache. There's a lot of things coming in that I'm just, I'm not going to tell you right now. Speaker 0 00:07:08 Okay. So for everybody at home, I don't, when I come and I sit at this chair, I don't tell Ali what to do. He just decides what to do. So from the beard to the hair, the only time I've come in here and asked Allie to do anything was to shave my head. But that was for my sister. And there was a little bit of apprehension when I said Allie, shave all my hair away. But I'm thinking, it looks pretty solid, man. Actually, I'm liking, I'm liking the skin fade. Speaker 3 00:07:35 It's in phases of my circuits. Yeah. No, it's a clean haircut. Always thinking about the skin fade, man. And if someone leaves Speaker 0 00:07:43 That's right. Speaker 3 00:07:43 Minimum, once a week, Speaker 0 00:07:44 Minimum ad of mine coming in once a week to hang out, Speaker 3 00:07:47 I know I'm 40 this morning. There's nothing else to do. So that's right. Speaker 0 00:07:50 That's right. No, it's Speaker 3 00:07:51 Better than going to a club. Speaker 0 00:07:54 That's right. It's a hell of a lot cheaper that's Speaker 3 00:07:58 For sure. Speaker 0 00:07:59 Right. So listen, before I cut you loose, there's one guy in this barbershop that I want to sit down with and you got to make it happen. Speaker 3 00:08:08 Yeah. That guy mark. Speaker 0 00:08:10 It's mark. He's been dodging me man. Speaker 3 00:08:13 Oh my God. Mark man. Mark and stubborn asked this guy, man, I had, I had two rough years in working Speaker 0 00:08:20 With mark. That's Speaker 3 00:08:21 Right there. Make him don't make him go a little bit. Barbara software. No, that's right. Speaker 0 00:08:26 That's Speaker 3 00:08:26 Right. Because he's everybody has his way. I know he's a smart guy. He has his ways and everything. Yeah. There is a key. Yeah. Speaker 0 00:08:34 Okay. Speaker 3 00:08:34 Everybody has a Speaker 0 00:08:35 Key Speaker 3 00:08:37 Under the air. Okay. Speaker 0 00:08:40 Alright Speaker 3 00:08:41 Brother. Speaker 0 00:08:42 All right. Well, Ali man, that's the end of the show. Thank you very much for sponsoring this segment. Max CD minutes. Um, Tanner's not going to ask you questions because they're just you and me talking.
